Main goals
Focal point for stakeholders inside or outside of European institutions
Represent the interests of producers of perfumery, aromatic and medicinal plants
Improving contact, collaboration and dissemination amongst members
Focal points
Good Agricultural and Wild Collection Practice of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (GACP)
GACP is a requirement for a good and safe production of highquality products. After having elaborated a GACP for our field, EUROPAM now focuses on facilitating its implementation.
Contaminants
Abiotic and biotic contaminations of agricultural products are unfortunately a fact and threaten quality and safety. Our focus is on data collection for an overall view on certain problems and to react accordingly by initiating research and innovation to solve issues of concern.
EUROPAM position paper on dehydration factors
Many regulations are based on fresh material, while in our sector most traded material is in a dried state (= drugs).
Therefore, limits need often to be adopted using a dehydration (drying) factor. Due to the enormous species richness of perfumery, medicinal and aromatic plants, a more pragmatic approach is to use only three different factor for certain drug groups.
EUROPAM position paper on necessary batch document information
The information accompanying a batch is crucial for traceability and customers risk assessments. Unfortunately, an uncontrolled development was asking for much information not needed for risk assessment but led to additional burden for producers. EUROPAM presents in this position paper the minimum information necessary for risk assessment.
